A full production studio on wheels, bringing media training and storytelling directly into Bronx neighborhoods.
The Mobile Media Zone is a production van build-out, based on a Ram ProMaster extended-wheelbase van, being outfitted as a dual-purpose travel and podcast production vehicle. Once complete, it will carry a four-row swivel seating layout and a full professional audio and video setup, so PMZ can record podcasts, interviews, and training sessions on location instead of asking residents to come to a studio.
For a lot of Bronx residents, the biggest barrier to telling their story is not talent. It is access: getting to a studio, getting time with equipment, getting someone to show them how it works. The Mobile Media Zone removes that barrier by meeting people on their own block, whether that is a community garden, a school, a block party, or a church basement.
The van is currently in build-out. We are working through the equipment install, from camera and audio rigging to the on-board recording setup, before it hits the road.
